Saving Port Harvey for all Boaters

Donation protected
SINCE THE PASSING OF GEORGE ON AUG 6 THIS CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN CANCELLED.  THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT BUT IT WAS NOT MEANT TO BE!

On May 15, 2018 bylaw 895 was passed, contrary to the Regional District of Mount Waddingon’s own bylaws and the North Vancouver Island Marine Plan, to allow for a shipyard and industrial activities in the beautiful bay of Port Harvey, British Columbia.  This bylaw was passed, even though a motion was made for a site visit which did not materialize.  Only one director has been in this bay and that was several years ago (who voted against the approval).

This approval will evetually destroy Port Harvey Marine Resort’s ability to operate and the safe anchorage for boaters will no longer be available in the bay.

Legal Counsel has been retained to file with the Supreme Court to have the Bylaw overturned which would essentially stop the activity.  This must be done within two months of the approval.  The cost of this suit could be up to $80,000 so we are requesting help in order to save our livelihood and make the bay safe again for all boaters.

Thank you to all!
