Hey Family and Friends, it’s Otto!
This is a little outside my comfort zone, but I’m reaching out because I truly need your help.
As many of you know, I’ve taken on the responsibility of saving our beloved Bessemund home — the place that has given our family countless memories, shelter, and support during life’s transitions. It’s where we grew up, found peace, and built foundations for better lives. It’s home.
Over the years, the house has fallen into disrepair. Maintaining it became too much, and understandably, everyone had to focus on their own lives and families. Eventually, the plan was to sell. But knowing the heart and history inside those walls also the value of the property,I couldn’t stand by and watch it leave our family.
After talking with everyone, I was given the chance to execute my vision: save the home, restore it, and turn it into something even greater. I got approved for the mortgage, signed the sale contract, and pulled together a team to start the massive clean-out and repairs.
But as you can imagine, the costs grew quickly. I’ve stretched myself thin — personally funding as much as I could — even putting some of my own bills on the back burner to keep things moving.
Now, I’m at a point where I can’t do this alone anymore. Work only gets done when I get paid at my job, which slows down the whole process. And if it slows too much, we risk losing the house altogether.
That’s why I’m reaching out.
I’m asking for your help to push this project over the finish line and save Grandma’s house.
Right now, the priority is to pay the remaining $5,000 to our contractor, who has been doing an incredible job on the interior repairs — repairs necessary to pass the upcoming home inspection. Once this phase is complete, we’ll be on solid ground to move forward with the bigger vision.
Here’s the beautiful part: after the sale, my family has agreed to gift me back the purchase funds, allowing me to fully renovate the home and open a residential assisted living home — with Grandma Nesta Ward Chester as the very first resident, God willing.
From there, the home won’t just be preserved; it will become a lasting source of generational wealth for our family. An assisted living facility can generate around $8,000 a month per resident, meaning the house will go from a financial burden to a valuable, income-producing legacy — all while honoring the woman who gave us so much.
This isn’t just about fixing up an old house — it’s about building a foundation for generations to come. I have never been more certain about anything in my life.
If you’d like to help, any donation — large or small — would mean the world. If you’re interested in investing or want to hear more about the full plan, I’d love to meet up and share the vision with you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this. Even if you can’t give, your support and prayers are deeply appreciated.
Much love,
Otto
