Saving Addison's Smile - A Diabetes Journey

Our Journey Begins with Addison

Hey there! It’s Jessica, just sharing something incredibly close to our hearts. Our family has never had to do this, but life throws you the unexpected, so here we are... Just a few days ago, our world took an unexpected turn. Our 13-year-old granddaughter, Addison, was rushed to Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs. She wasn't feeling well, but diabetes? We didn't see that coming!

Imagine the shock when we first heard those words from her worried parents: "Type 1 diabetes." It’s a diagnosis that changes everything in an instant. For anyone—but especially for Addison, who has just begun to spread her wings.

We all know Addison is very strong, but watching our sweet girl hooked up to monitors, needles in her arms, finger pokes every 15 minutes, blood draws every two hours... It hits different. We are all trying to wrap our heads around what lies ahead for Addison, Brandy, Dave, the boys, and us as a family. The treatments, the care, the constant vigilance—it’s overwhelming!

But here's where you come in. Addison may be young, but she has a spirit that shines brighter than this life-altering disease. We need all hands on deck, all Shorthorns and Longhorns rallying behind her to keep her spirits high and healthy. That's why I'm reaching out to ask for your help—be it through words of encouragement, emotional support, or perhaps even financial assistance if you can spare anything at this time.

There will be countless doctor and specialist visits, a lifetime of treatments, the constant worry about her well-being. It feels daunting, but with every step and setback, Addison shows us what true courage looks like. She's fighting—and we will too! Knowing you all are cheering for her makes it so much easier to face each day.

Your donations, big or small, can make a real difference right now. Imagine the smiles and relief that brighter days with Addison could bring into not just our household, but to the many who know and love her! ❤️

Dave and Brandy always put others first and have instilled that in their children. Please help us put Addison and her family first! Please share her story wide because every little bit helps us get through these uncertain times together with our sweet girl.

Thank you for being part of her journey, part of our family's story.
