Save the Anna Newman Kunz Pool
Donation protected
The Anna Kunz Memorial Pool in Westmoreland has been around since 1960, but has come under disrepair and is set to be demolished, but we don't want to let it go without a fight.
We want to keep Kunz's memory alive and keep the pool open for area kids. We beleive as Anna believed, that every child should learn to swim. Every day, about ten people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger.
Just like our predecessors did when they built the pools decades ago, it’s our turn to pay for a long-term investment in health, recreation and quality of life for ourselves, our families, and several more generations
We organized the Save Our Pool Committee to help come up with some funding and apply for grants to try and make the necessary repairs.
Demolition of the pool will begin in the next few weeks unless we come together. It’s a legacy in which we, our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be able to take great pride.
The clock is now ticking on the pool that has meant so much to so many.
