Every morning before the sun rises, I walk the fence line of our little sanctuary and listen. I hear soft nickers from horses who once knew only fear. I see them lift their heads when they recognize my footsteps. That sound — that trust — is why this place exists.
Our sanctuary was built on second chances.
Some of our horses were rescued from neglect. Some were too old to be “useful” anymore. Some were injured, scared, or simply unwanted. When they arrived, many were thin, anxious, and unsure of human hands. Today, they roll in open pastures, lean into gentle brushes, and rest without fear. They have names now. They have space. They have dignity.
But right now, we’re at risk of losing it all.
Rising feed costs, veterinary bills, and land expenses have pushed us to a breaking point. We stretch every dollar. We volunteer every hour. Still, we are struggling to keep the gates open and the hay in the barn.
If this sanctuary closes, these horses don’t just lose a home — they lose their safety.
I’m asking for your help not just to save a piece of land, but to protect the lives that depend on it. Your donation goes directly toward feed, medical care, and keeping this safe haven standing. Even the smallest contribution means another bale of hay, another farrier visit, another day of peace for a horse who has already endured too much.
When you give, you become part of their story. You become part of their second chance.
Please help us keep the gates open. Help us keep the promise we made to them — that they will never be unwanted again
