We are deeply saddened by the Tri Delta Executive Board’s decision to withdraw the charter of the Delta Omicron Chapter at Indiana University. We were surprised to learn that the Executive Board took such a swift step against a chapter that dates back more than 100 years on Indiana University’s campus. With this campaign, we hope to show support for our current Delta Omicron members by ensuring the decision is reversed.
The Delta Omicron chapter has a rich history of diversity, sisterhood, philanthropy and community and University support. It is the reason for lifelong relationships among its members and is a pillar of the Indiana University campus. In fact, upon learning of the chapter revocation, within 24-hours, a group of more than one thousand past & present DO members have come together in the hopes of imploring the National Organization to reconsider their decision. There is an unwavering commitment among the alumnae, both locally and from around the country, to support our active members in any way that may be appropriate to cure any wrongdoings and/or misjudgments of the active members.
Tri Delta is founded on a strong set of values of sisterhood and support, and we hope the National Organization will employ these standards to support our sisters that are currently at Indiana University.
Most of us credit Tri Delta with our first leadership role, the birthplace of lifelong friendships (bridesmaids, god-parents to our children, best friends), and a jumping-off point to our future career as a lawyer, a doctor, an executive, a mother, a scientist, a therapist, a teacher . . . the list goes on. With the money raised from this campaign we hope to properly & successfully do whatever it takes to ensure the reversal of the Exectuive Boards decision. We ask that the Executive Board reconsider their decision and let us be involved with supporting our sisters. Thank you!
