In just three years, a synthetic drug called Kush has swept through Freetown, Sierra Leone—turning vibrant young men into addicts, outcasts, and casualties.
Families are desperate.
Rehab doesn’t exist.
In some places, the only “treatment” is chaining people inside a room for days, hoping they survive withdrawal.
And now—horrifying reports confirm—human bones are being ground up and mixed into this drug.
Sierra Leone has survived civil war and Ebola…But Kush is threatening to wipe out the country’s future—targeting boys as young as 13.
Why We’re Raising $10,000 — and Why It Matters Right Now
We’re partnering with Sahid Bangura — a local leader who has spent the last seven years on the ground, fighting substance abuse, mental health challenges, and walking alongside some of Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable youth.
But over the last three years, the rise of Kush has taken this crisis to an entirely new level — faster and deadlier than anyone imagined.
Sahid is not alone—others are trying to fight back—but the need is overwhelming.
