Hi, my name is Vik, and I am a trans activist residing in Prague. I am originally from Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, and I ran away from an abusive home at 18 to CZ Republic, a story not uncommon for Eastern Europeans. I am still recovering from the damage done to me, and I am going through a complicated visa process, which quite frankly brought me to an even darker mental and physical place.

Now with fascism on the rise, it seems quite hopeless for me to get the visa, especially because recently I learned that they have deportation quotas in the EU. I am reaching out to my broader community for financial help with an intense sense of shame as capitalism teaches us to stay silent about our financial struggles, but I cannot see any other viable solution. In doing research, I realized that I am eligible for Romanian citizenship, which would ease my situation, and that the process can be sped up, but that would require me having a lawyer, which, going back to my financial situation, would be an immense burden for me to carry alone. I estimate that it costs around 5000 dollars. If there are any remaining funds, I would like to use the money for my dental health. Being that I am only 23 and already losing teeth due to stress and bad genetics, I think it could improve my quality of life.
