I am the Quartermaster of the VFW Post 2562 in Wheaton. I am raising funds for the VFW Post 2562, a non-profit 501c(19) organization, and the funds will be directly deposited into our bank account.

At VFW Post 2562, we proudly serve the veterans of the Wheaton community and surrounding areas for over 80 years now. Our Post is more than just a building — it is a home. It is a place where veterans gather for camaraderie, support, and fellowship. It is also a welcoming space for families, friends, and members of our community to come together.

Over the past year and a half, however, we have been faced with significant and unexpected hardships. Our facility requires major repairs, including a full roof repair due to ongoing leaks, interior repainting, bathroom stall repairs, remodeling to bring the building up to date, and essential maintenance on our kitchen equipment, including servicing and professionally cleaning the ovens.

These mounting expenses have placed a serious financial strain on our Post. Without assistance, we face the very real possibility of exhausting our funds and potentially closing our doors.

Closing the Post would be a tremendous loss — not only to the veterans who rely on this space for connection and support, but to the entire community we serve.

Today, we are asking for your help. We are asking for community support — whether through donations, sponsorships, volunteer labor, or spreading the word. Your support will help ensure that VFW Post 2562 remains a place of fellowship, service, and pride for generations to come.

We cannot do this alone. With your help, we can keep our doors open and continue serving those who have served.

Donations can be made through this GoFundMe site or by going straight to our Donation Web Page at https://donate.stripe.com/9AQ4jCdzP0Dq8tW4gh and avoid the GoFundMe fees.
