SAVE UTAH'S DIXIE!

Donation protected
We need your help to keep the Dixie name in Utah's Dixie!

Dixie State University is asking the Utah State Legislature to remove DIXIE from the school's name in January 2021.  As a strong community, Dixie Alumni  and Dixie supporters we can stop this action!

Funds are needed NOW to fight this on a State and Legislative level.

Erasing history and tearing down statues will not be tolerated in Utah's Dixie.  We have watched other communities throughout our nation work together to save their history and heritage, we can do this too.

Already, many Dixie people have vowed to come together to let outsiders know that we will stand up for our pioneer ancestors and we will honor those who founded this community.

We love Dixie State and we want it to continue and thrive with the great Dixie name.  We want our children and grandchildren to attend Dixie just like we did and have a wonderful experience there.  We want to continue to donate,  volunteer and serve at DSU as we have always done in the past.

We honor traditions and want to continue to sing, "Are You From Dixie!".  Roene Difiore is cheering us on!  Remember A.K. Hafen's school song, "We Love You Dear Dixie School!"   We DO love that school!

Please donate and forward this link to everyone who loves Utah's Dixie!  Any amount is welcome.

What else can you do besides donate?
Please contact EVERY legislator in the State of Utah and ask them to support our Dixie community by voting against removing the word Dixie from Dixie State University when they vote during the next legislative session next month.

On Dec. 14, 2020, the Dixie State University Trustees voted unanimously to remove the word Dixie and change the name.  This must now be approved by the Utah State Board of Higher Education, then the legislature.

Please contact THE UTAH BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION to  let them know that you want them to support the history and heritage of Utah's Dixie.   Our community loves the school and  we want it to continue with the success we see year after year.  Dixie IS welcoming, inclusive and a great place to learn and it is thriving!

The Dixie community was built by 309 strong pioneer families who were sent to Southern Utah to grow cotton, the Dixie Cotton mission, in 1857.  Please honor them for their sacrifice and determination to build such a solid foundation by donating and spreading the word that we are in a fight to keep the Dixie name.

There's NO SHAME IN THE NAME!  Let's keep Dixie in Utah's Dixie.

If you would like to help further in any way, please contact me [email redacted]
I will be happy to send you contact information for EVERY member of the Utah Legislature and the Board of Higher Ed contact information.

Together we are stronger.

If there are any remaining funds after this fight, all proceeds will be given in the form of scholarships to Dixie State University students.
