"A Desperate Plea: Help My Family Escape the Gaza War"
Dear friends and kind-hearted supporters,
I am reaching out in a moment of desperate need to ask for your help. My family is trapped in Gaza, facing unimaginable horrors due to the ongoing war. We have lost everything—our homes, our safety, and our peace of mind. My father is gravely ill and needs urgent medical attention, while my sister, who is pregnant, requires immediate care. We have been displaced multiple times, and now, living in Deir al-Balah specifications under constant threat, our only hope for survival is to evacuate to safety.
We need your help to raise $45,000 to cover the costs of evacuation and basic living expenses for my family of 11. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help save lives and give us a chance to rebuild in peace. Please, stand with us in this fight for survival and a better future.
Your support means the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Welcome everyone,
A Story of Loss, Resilience, and Hope
My name is Amro Qaoud and my wife is Fatima Ashour. Two years ago, we launched our first startup with the aim of helping people find their passion in life, especially the youth of Gaza who are struggling to overcome the harsh reality they face. We poured our hearts and souls into building our dream, securing funding, and preparing to showcase our startup in Saudi Arabia. We were on the cusp of something incredible, and our lives were full of hope and excitement for the future.
My name is Amro Qaoud, and I am collecting donations. After much thought and hesitation, I find myself in a desperate situation. I am asking for your support to evacuate my family of 11 orphans from Gaza during this ongoing war and after nearly 190 days. The situation has become unbearable, and I fear for the safety and well-being of my loved ones.
I ask for your support for my family currently trapped in the war-torn area of Deir al-Balah and Rafah. The ongoing conflict has devastated their lives, leaving them homeless, vulnerable, and facing the constant threat of death. I am desperate to help them escape this dire situation and provide them with a chance for a safer and more secure future.
My family's plight:
However, as the war in Gaza continues to escalate, they finally realize that their only chance to survive is to escape the area. They have endured unimaginable suffering, witnessed the destruction of their homes and the loss of loved ones. The constant fear and uncertainty has affected their physical and mental health.
My family consists of nine adults and two children, all under 5 years old. My father, Salah Qaoud, 59 years old, suffers from many medical problems. He suffers from many health complications due to stomach diseases and hernias, and needs urgent surgery. My sister, Aya Qaoud, her husband, his children, and his son, who was born in the fourth month of the war, and the family of my pregnant sister, Heba Qaoud. So they are three families in total. They are all educated, and even my sisters Israa was supposed to register for a master’s degree last December, and my sister Alaa lost her studies at the university, and also my sister Yasmine lost her first university semester, and my sister Sama is studying in the 9th grade currently. As for my brother Ahmed, he is 16 years old now and is studying and lost. He studies like the rest of Gaza's students. All of my family members have lost their jobs and homes since the beginning of the war, and have had to flee their homes in northern Gaza, moving from one area to another in search of safety. They left their homes with nothing but the clothes they were wearing, and unfortunately all their homes were destroyed. The attached pictures of the destruction will give you an idea of the extent of their loss.
Current situation: So far, my family has been displaced five times, enduring untold hardships along the way. For weeks, the men in my family had no choice but to sleep on the streets. Now, they find themselves in Rafah, their last refuge, living in inhumane conditions. The constant threat of invasion and attack on Rafah hovers over them, putting their lives in greater danger. This is not only their suffering; Rather, it is the suffering of 1.5 million refugees in Rafah who face the same imminent danger.
Asking for Help: I started this fundraising campaign to urgently raise money to help my family leave Gaza as soon as possible. The total cost of ensuring they leave is $45,000.This amount includes $5,000 per person for departure fees, which must be paid to an Egyptian courier who facilitates their safe passage. After arriving at their destination, they will need financial support to cover basic living expenses, including accommodation, food, transportation and healthcare, in order to ensure stable employment. In addition, $5,000 is required for delivery expenses as my pregnant sister will soon undergo a cesarean section. Each family will need about $2,000 per month for three months to cover basic living expenses, and an additional $8,000 is required for clothing and urgent medical needs. The plan is to settle in Egypt in the current period and register my sisters in universities and my brothers in schools, in addition to the page fee, which amounts to 2.5% + 30 cents for each donation, approximately $1,850.
How your support can make a difference: Funds raised through this campaign will be used to cover costs associated with the evacuation of my family from Gaza. This includes transportation expenses, necessary documents, and temporary accommodation until they can find a more permanent solution. Your generous contributions will enable them to escape the war-torn region and provide them with an opportunity to start over, away from the constant fear and danger they currently face. Every dollar means something, and your support will not only provide a lifeline for my family but also restore their hope for a better future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and standing with us during this difficult journey
