We need your help to obtain the vital professional and legal fees needed for Save Towcester Now to take on the fight against the DHL warehouse proposal in February at the Planning Appeal. For nearly four years, the STN team, supported by thousands of local people, has fought hard and successfully, voluntarily giving up endless hours to ensure that this totally inappropriate proposal for giant warehouses does not get planning approval. In September, the West Northants Strategic Planning Committee agreed with us and emphatically rejected the DHL proposal by 11 - 1. Yet, despite this overwhelming rejection, within weeks DHL had lodged an Appeal to the Planning Inspectorate, forcing WNC and ourselves to step back into the ring once more.

This is nothing short of an outrage. DHL and its representatives are well aware that nobody - not the people of Towcester and surrounding villages, nor our democratically elected representatives at WNC and all of our parish councils - actually wants its warehouses to be built here, towering over the edge of our historic town. Clearly, DHL doesn't care about the light and noise polluting our surroundings 24 hours a day, or that these giant warehouses will destroy the beauty of our visual environment forever, or that hundreds of HGVs will be leaving or entering the site every day of the year, clogging up our already overloaded and failing road network. DHL just cares that it has spent millions on a site without planning permission and now wants to recoup that money, no matter the cost to the people who actually live here. So, we have to fight this monstrous plan and we need your help to do so. Please donate as much as you feel able. The corporate bully boys cannot be allowed to ride roughshod over local democracy nor should their financial muscle be allowed to decide the future of OUR local town and surrounding environment.
