Save Their Home: Support Mom and Disabled Son
Donation protected
Imagine being a single mother with a severely disabled son who is very medically complex, managing his case with about 18 different doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital! There are constant doctor appointments and surgeries, preparing his food, changing his diaper at 16 years old, the constant bathing/cleaning, changing, laundry… I could go on, but I am hoping you get the picture. Her son is a full-time job and imagine on top of that being told you should work FULL time!
Now imagine having to decide on whether to pay your rent or electric bill or buy food (Did I mention he can only eat gluten-free, dairy-free, and cannot chew solid foods?) Imagine deciding on getting your car registered or paying for a repair to make your car safe or buying pull-ups/diapers and cleaning supplies! There is very little assistance she is able to get through the state and federal agencies or even the agencies that assist disabled children. The bottom line is she needs to stay living where she lives because the town pays for his special schooling at Perkins School for the Blind/Deaf (Did I mention he is legally blind and deaf?)
She is facing eviction from their apartment and if that happens she will not be able to provide a home for her son. He will not only lose the special schooling she has fought so hard to get for him, but she will lose her son! Please help keep them together! She is going to housing court and will be evicted if we do not raise enough money to pay everything and get her back on her feet!
NEW! On top of everything else her truck has probably broken down for good! Her brakes went completely! Deb has had no choice but to drive her 20 year old truck that has almost 300K miles on it. She NEEDS a vehicle to get her son to all 18+ of his doctor's appointments. Unfortunately, she practically lives at Boston Children's Hospital and other offices in Waltham, Lexington, Weymouth, etc... So please donate! Do you know of any way to get her a newer vehicle? Any Mechanic's that might try to fix her truck?
