Residents of Mantua, NJ and Lovers of Nature - we need your help!

We are the Mantua Coalition Against Overdevelopment (MCAO), aka "Save the Woods Mantua".

We are taking action against a proposed subdivision at 120 Woodlawn Ave that threatens the well-being of our neighborhood and the local ecosystem. 

This proposed project raises significant concerns about environmental damage: This 7.2 acre property is an old growth forest serving as a critical habitat for wildlife already displaced by development. This wildlife includes the barred owl, a protected species in New Jersey.

The new subdivision would remove most of these beautiful trees, which provide homes to many animals, improve air quality, and control water runoff and soil erosion.

Our Goal: We aim to stop this subdivision or ensure it's built responsibly, prioritizing environmental and infrastructure considerations.

Taking Action: We have retained legal counsel to represent Mantua residents at the upcoming land use hearing on Tuesday June 18th and any further hearings that may occur later. Having a professional who understands the land use ordinances in New Jersey is critical to our success!

How the money will be used: 100% of all money will go towards legal representation at the land use hearings.
