Save The Unicorn Pub - Bring Our Village Heart Back To Life

The Unicorn in Cublington has stood proudly for over 300 years — a beautiful 17th-century pub steeped in history, full of character, and central to village life. From hosting RAF personnel during WWII to celebrating birthdays, weddings, and family milestones, The Unicorn has been more than a pub — it’s been the beating heart of our community.

But today, that heart is silent. The doors are closed. And like so many pubs across the UK, it risks being lost forever. We, the people of Cublington, refuse to let that happen.

We’re launching this community-led campaign to buy and restore The Unicorn, as a village-owned pub, a thriving social space that brings people together, and ensures this historic treasure remains for generations to come.

The Unicorn was where neighbours became friends. Where music events were hosted, craft clubs met, and celebrations brought the community together.

Cublington is no stranger to standing up for what matters. In the 1970s, we proudly resisted plans to build a major airport on our doorstep — and won. That fighting spirit lives on. Today, we rally again to protect our way of life and the soul of our village.

Our Goal

We’re raising funds to buy The Unicorn as a community asset, renovate it, and reopen it as a vibrant, welcoming, and sustainable venue — run for the benefit of all. The funds raised in this campaign will be used to pay for surveys, legal consultation and ongoing costs to put in a viable bid for The Unicorn. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to reclaiming this cornerstone of our village.
