Save The Truckee River Corridor

This go fund me is made by and for the community of bridges 5/6/7/8 on the Truckee River Corridor that do not want Placer County to put a giant bike trail in and through our yards. All funds go to paying out legal representation who’s resume is listed below.  Our water will likely be ruined if Placer paved a bike trail over it, and we need joint legal representation to pay for our lawyer. Cindy stewart on Bridge 8 made a bank account to pay the lawyer, Tom on bridge 8 will post all lawyer bills as they come in so we can all see where our money is going, to the lawyer. Cindy will manage the “ accounts payable” bank account to our lawyer. Thank you neighbors, this is a huge step to helping keep our community and river corridor peaceful and beautiful.

Please help us save the last frontier on the Truckee River from major development. Placer County has its eyes on the eastern shore (opposite shore of highway 89) to develop a tier one bike trail with 8 bridges, parking lots, bathrooms, tourist attraction kiosks to draw the public into this rustic wild space that's now home to wetlands and wildlife. We all want the bike trail down highway 89, it will be a great asset for the Truckee Tahoe Community. We need help to keep the bike trail alignment on the river, on 89, on the already developed logical shore. Let’s keep at least one bank of the Truckee River wild and free for the bears to roam, coyotes to drink, anglers to fish, and wetland frogs to croak. The homes in the corridor have delicate springs for water with no water supply offered by county; the trail could ruin the 60+ homes water supply.  In a day and age of over tourism and over crowding, help us save the last wild spaces in Tahoe from a paved highway and deforestation that will increase our community’s wild Fire danger exponentially.  Save the river!

You can help up by writing the county in opposition, or donating. All proceeds will go to our lawyer who’s CV is listed below. She is helping guide us to keep the bike trail on highway 89.  Commenting on the EIR helps a d you can do that here after July 9 https://www.placer.ca.gov/7204/Truckee-River-Recreational-Access-Projec
