Save the Story - The Towerlight's End-of-Year Fundraiser

The Towerlight is Towson University’s only independent, student run newspaper. This week we’re launching our first ever Save the Story fundraising event. We deliver important breaking news, sports, and community stories about Towson University to you throughout the year, but it costs to produce.

So we need your help.

The Towerlight is completely independent of Towson University so we receive no funds when we write. This means our coverage is uncensored and it’s meant to inform you of what’s happening where you can’t see. But financial support is critical to maintaining that independence. So we need you to keep our press, free press.

The Towerlight is an online student-run news organization serving Towson University and the surrounding community for the past 100 years. Baltimore Student Media is the 501(c)3 nonprofit which publishes The Towerlight, including Towerlight Today, an email newsletter, and TheTowerlight.com. Our mission is to give students practical experience in all aspects of journalism while also responsibly informing our community. That's why our nonprofit parent, Baltimore Student Media, set up this campaign with a goal of $3,000.
