The Towerlight is completely independent of Towson University so we receive no funds when we write. This means our coverage is uncensored and it’s meant to inform you of what’s happening where you can’t see. But financial support is critical to maintaining that independence. Baltimore Student Media is the 501(c)3 nonprofit which publishes The Towerlight, including Towerlight Today, an email newsletter, and TheTowerlight.com. Our mission is to give students practical experience in all aspects of journalism while also responsibly informing our community. That's why our nonprofit parent, Baltimore Student Media, set up this campaign with a goal of $3,000.
