We are raising money to save the Philly Trash Panda Mural, located in Webb Street Playground, which has become a beloved landmark in our community. The mural was originally crowdfunded in 2017 and features a two-story raccoon eating a Philly soft pretzel. Over the years, the wall and mural have suffered damage, with the stucco crumbling and separating from the wall, and the paint flaking off, putting the mural at risk.
The artist, Evan Lovett from VURT Creative, who originally designed and painted the mural in 2017, has generously agreed to repaint the mural once the wall is repaired. To make this happen, we need to remove and repair the damaged stucco, which requires professional labor and supplies. Once the wall is fixed, the funds will also cover a lift, insurance, primer, and paint so Evan can restore the mural to its original glory.
The Philly Trash Panda has brought our community joy and become a point of pride over the past 9 years. We want to make sure it continues to bring smiles to future residents and visitors. Your support will help preserve this unique piece of Philadelphia art and keep our neighborhood vibrant. Thank you for helping us save the Trash Panda!
