My name is Ismail Obeid, and I write to you, weighed down by hunger and fear.

We are a family of eight, yet with each passing day, we fear becoming fewer…

Hunger devours our children, my mother is sick without medicine, and my father has been unable to work since the war began.

I feel powerless when my younger siblings look into my eyes with hunger and ask:

“Ismail, when will we eat?”

And I have no answer… only tears.

Today, I write to you as a human being appealing to your humanity.
