Save the Mt. Ashland Ski Program for Our Kids

Help us (for the second year in a row) save the Mt. Ashland After School Ski Program for Ashland School District Middle schoolers!

The Ashland School District, for the second year in a row, has not allocated funding for busses to transport Ashland Middle School students to the School Learn to Ski Program offered by Mt. Ashland.

To make matters more complicated, the school district has decided they will not insure the busses this year either. This forces parent volunteers to fundraise solely on our own because the Ashland Schools Foundation can't use their fundraising platform on non-district insured events.

For over 30 years, Mt. Ashland has provided school-based programs to help teach students to ski and ride from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. Historically, Ashland Middle School students have taken buses from town to the program, enriching the experience by creating lifelong memories riding with friends to the mountain. Other benefits of the program include:

- Low cost introduction to snow sports
- Confidence-building experience with trained Mt. Ashland instructors
- Accessible avenue for children from non-skiing/boarding families to experience the magic of Mt. Ashland
- Builds independence and resilience through the adventure of traveling, learning, and decision making with peers
-This year, the ice rink is closed - making this winter experience extra special and important in 2026.

We’re doing our best as parents to save the experience and are fundraising this year to pay for transportation for all Ashland Middle School/Willow Wind/Trails students!

The total cost for transportation for 3 nights will be $1600 for 2 buses. We need an additional $400 as a buffer for a cancellation and an insurance rider.

Funds will be used to pay the transportation department directly and the insurance for each trip. Any extra funds will be rolled into fundraising efforts for 2027.

Here is a real opportunity to make a difference for kids in the community!

Can you help us raise the $2,000 by January 5th, and make sure our children have the chance to experience the magic of sliding on snow in their own backyard?
