Save The Monza

As some of you know, we’ve recently acquired the 1+acre attached to the track (Adkins Raceway/Speed Center) at auction. This piece of land seemed to not be a big deal until we got into the details—which uncovered an issue…part of “The Monza” . Upon investigation, the crowds favorite part was indeed on a portion of this property. This property USED TO be included in the business until Brandon’s parents “gifted” this portion to Bill and Ruth (Brandon’s grandparents). Due to failing health, they are both in a nursing home and had to liquidate assets. You see where this is going, right…


Fast forward until a week or so ago…the property officially went on the online auction block. We knew and figured we’d have some competition (but really, why…WHY would anyone want or need this little sliver of property) and we we’re ready to pay a bit over value. A little.


We met someone yesterday who was bidding (and at that time, he was the highest) and explained our situation and what we wanted to do and our plans and all the backstory. He agreed we needed to keep it. He was honest and upfront. He presented and showed us his max bid at 11k and said he wouldn’t touch it more. We would just need to over-bid that. Cool. We went in at 11,500 to throw it.

So we thought…


Fast forward a bit more. 6 minutes. 6 minutes before auction close, our $11,500 offer was thrown. Threw. The. Roof. We got into a bidding war, but once again NEEDED to keep it. Keep it for us. For you. The racers. The rentals. The spectators. The memories. It needed to be saved.

DONE!!!


This battle for land has been on the horizon for a while and quite frankly is one of the biggest reasons we haven’t done any improvements. But now we can look ahead at the (hopefully) big things coming.


We saved it! But to the tune or $34,500! Thanks to an investor who has made this possible. But the property closes in 30 days and we must clear this.


So with that being said, we’re super excited to have won the bid that saved our business. Our property. Our destiny. Our kids futures. Your safe space and your kids safe space.

It’s ours!

It’s family property that stays.
