We are Erica and Gabriel Johnson and we are organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of our dear friends, the Locklin family, who are in urgent need of support.

In February of this year, a mudslide—caused by improper drainage and erosion control from Brookfield Residential, a major developer building behind their home—severely damaged the Locklins’ house. The resulting water damage required extensive demolition and restoration, which Brookfield initially agreed to cover along with the repairs. Unfortunately, Brookfield has since failed to honor their commitment and has refused to pay the local restoration company for the work already completed. This has resulted in a lien against the Locklins’ home, putting them at risk of foreclosure.

In addition, the family of five and their golden retriever have been displaced for the past eight months, forced to rely on the generosity of relatives for shelter as their own home remains uninhabitable. They have received no assistance for temporary housing, and many of their belongings are being held in storage.

We are seeking financial support to help the Locklin family cover the restoration costs, recover their possessions, and ultimately prevent their home from being lost to foreclosure.

This is not just any house to the Locklin family—it is a four-generation family home, deeply rooted in Temecula since 1943, and is historically significant to the region.

Lisa, Kevin, and their three daughters are among the most gracious, compassionate, and generous people we know. They serve faithfully in ministry at our local church, spreading the kindness and love of God to everyone they meet. The stories of their selflessness and support for others are too countless to share here.
