Save The John Nield Conservatory in Stamford Park
My Name Is Jane, I Am A Member Of The Community Of Tameside, And I Represent Our Local Community Group "Save Stamford Park Conservatory" We Are Fundraising To Save The Conservatory In Stamford Park That Our Local Council TMBC Want To Demolish.
This Conservatory Was Gifted To The Community In 1907, For Our Use, Free Of Charge, To Infuse & Teach Us the Joys Of Horticulture, Which We May Not Get To See Elsewhere. It Was Never The Councils To Demolish.
We Are Planning On A Full Refurbishment To Original Status Including The Most Ecological And Sustainable Heating System Needed, With Help From Historical Funds and Royal Heritage Funds.
To Get Us Started, We Need To Raise £10,000 In Order To Professionally Assess The Full Structure And Identify The Full Rebuild Costs & Running Costs In The Most Sustainable Way For The Future. In Doing This We Will Be Using The Most Credible Experienced Qualified Teams Of Professionals Throughout The UK.
Our Local Newspaper Tameside Reporter Has Pledged To Give Us £5000 When We Reach £5000. We Currently Have £2500 In Our Community Bank Account From Previously Fundraising, So We Are Almost There.
Once We Are Successful, Historic England Can Then Mark Our Conservatory As "Listed" And It Will Never Be At Risk Of Demolition Again.
