Relief & Support for The Electric Church

Donation protected

First and foremost, we want to acknowledge the immense challenges and tragedies happening in the world. We're well aware that our struggle is just one of many, and we don't aim to overshadow the pressing issues faced by others. However, we believe in the power of community and that even in difficult times, people can come together to support causes close to their hearts.

The Electric Church has been a sanctuary for creativity and artistic expression, a place where people gather to share their passions, talents, and dreams. We've poured our hearts and souls into nurturing this community, and we're now faced with a crisis. Last week, our landlord issued an ultimatum, giving us until the end of November to either raise the necessary funds or leave the space that means so much to all of us.

Compounding our challenges, our landlord has scheduled a realtor to assess our beloved space. The thought of parting with The Electric Church is incredibly painful, as it's not just a venue; it's a home to many.

We're asking for your help to preserve this creative haven and keep the doors open for all the artists, dreamers, and believers who find solace and inspiration here. We want to keep The Electric Church in East Austin.

Why We Need Your Support:
The past two years have been exceptionally challenging for us due to the impacts of COVID-19, a winter freeze in 2021 that led to venue flooding (attributed to aging pipes that fail every winter), oppressive summers without central AC, continuous building maintenance issues, and our unwavering commitment to prioritizing payments to artists. Over time, our dedication to building repairs became increasingly burdensome as we uncovered the extent of the building's problems. This dedication often leaves us just breaking even, and the financial strain has grown progressively harder to manage. Our landlord has been patient with us, but they're unable to cover the costs of the overdue building repairs, which are desperately needed to keep The Electric Church safe and operational.

Your Support Matters:
Your generosity can make a significant impact. By contributing to this campaign, you're not just helping us secure The Electric Church's future, but you're also preserving a space that has touched the lives of many in our community.

How You Can Help:
Donate: Every contribution, regardless of size, will make a huge difference. Your support goes directly toward covering our past rent, addressing overdue building repairs, and operating expenses.

Share: Spread the word about our campaign by sharing it with your friends, family, and community. The more people who know about our situation, the closer we are to our goal.

Encourage: Encourage others to contribute and be a part of saving The Electric Church.

The Future:
We are committed to transparency and accountability. Once our GoFundMe campaign is successful, we'll use the funds to address our rent deficit, tackle the overdue building repairs, ensure our staff's well-being, and continue providing the creative and inspiring experiences that The Electric Church is known for.

Our goal is to launch this campaign quickly to meet the pressing end-of-November deadline set by our landlord. Your support and generosity are critical, and we deeply appreciate any help you can provide.

If you believe in the power of community and in preserving a space where artists and dreamers find their voices, please consider donating, sharing, and being a part of this journey with us.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for helping us secure a bright future for The Electric Church.

Sincerely, The Electric Church Team
