Save the countryside
Solar 2 want to build one of Britain’s biggest solar power plants over 300 acres of hilly arable land at Berryhill farm near Fowlis on the outskirts of Dundee. It would cover an area the size of 300 football pitches and completely surround many local family homes.
Serious concerns have been raised regarding the plans for this large solar energy plant in this area, including:
- Flood risk to homes
- Glint and glare to homes and to major roads from 152,000 solar panels
- Dangerous congestion on narrow country roads due to articulated lorries transporting panels
- Loss of prime arable land
- Risk to wildlife
- Security fences and CCTV
- Impact on residential amenity
- Damaging precedent set to local area
- Likely decrease in property value to neighbouring properties
We support renewable energy but this is the wrong place.
The planning application has been submitted with a deadline of 3rd August to submit objections. (For details on how to oppose the plan please see spareberryhill.co.uk)
With the help of a planning consultant we will be able to submit an opposition letter that would make it difficult for the application to be approved... but the consultancy fee is £1800.
If we can reach our total we will be able to enlist the help of the planning consultant to help stop this outrageously huge development in our neighbourhood with the risks stated above.
Thank you for your help!
