Act NOW, donate to save your local community theatre from being closed!
Where: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey
Serving: Communities across Elmbridge, Spelthorne, Runnymede, Woking, Guildford and Mole Valley
“The Cecil Hepworth Playhouse – Theatre for the community” is a charitable association* set up to lead the fight to keep our wonderful community theatre open and available to all. The good news is that we are making some strides forward with Elmbridge Borough Council, who own the Theatre building, and have been offered the opportunity to take on the running of the Theatre from April 2023.
HOWEVER now we need you to join with us to make this HAPPEN!
Funds are needed to cover essential start-up, legal and property surveying costs, and to ensure we put forward a strong and realistic business case. You can help. Please donate today!!
As well as being a place we go to entertain and to be entertained, The Cecil Hepworth Playhouse has a wonderful history as part of the first working film studios in Britain! It is currently home to many societies and groups of every age. A local venue where you can see (and get involved in) shows, plays, dance, film festivals, youth theatre, and a whole lot more.
We have great plans for its future – including workshops, history talks, career support and real experience for young people wishing to work in theatre, film nights, and regular open days for anyone who wishes to tour and learn more about this gem of a theatre.
Join us as we work towards keeping the lights on at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse. It is a Theatre for OUR Community – so please support us by donating what you can today!
*We are in the process of applying for Registration with the Charity Commission, application number: 5197924. In the very unlikely event that this initial goal is exceeded, we will apply all excess funds prudentially to the ongoing running costs of the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse or in support of the societies/groups who regularly use it.
