Save the Carse – Crops Not Watts

The Halfway Energy solar farm plans to fill around 2,000 acres of prime Carse farmland with solar panels and battery storage. This would have a huge negative impact on the Carse, our farmland, wildlife and our community.

We have formed Save the Carse – Crops Not Watts, an independent action group run within the Carse of Gowrie Group (Scottish Charity SC050551), to stand up for our community and oppose the development.

Your donation will help us fund the campaign, including producing information and campaign materials, raising awareness, engaging with the planning process and organising events and activities to make sure the community's voice is heard.

We are a local community campaign run by local people, and every contribution will help us continue the fight to Save the Carse.

Say “Crops Not Watts” and donate today to help protect our community and our farmland.

Thank you for your amazing support

We have now raised £2,000 in just three weeks!

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Every contribution, large or small, has made a real difference and has allowed us to spread the word about what is happening here.

That growing awareness has also brought an amazing response from beyond the Carse. We have received offers of help and advice, free of charge, from people with relevant expertise who share our concerns about what is being proposed. We are incredibly grateful for their support and the knowledge they are willing to share with us.

We are also actively engaging with people in positions of influence, making sure they understand the concerns of local people, see for themselves what is at stake and can help influence the decision-makers.

The response from the community has been fantastic, and reaching £2,000 so quickly shows just how strongly people care about the future of the Carse.

But there is still a long way to go and we need to continue fundraising. Together, we can make sure that the future of the Carse is properly heard and considered.

Thank you for standing with us.
