Help Brisbane Gothic & Alternative Picnic!

Hello, fellow lovers of the dark and unconventional! My name is Lady J, and I'm the proud caretaker of the Brisbane Gothic Community. For the past 12 years, I've been hosting an annual tradition that's near and dear to our hearts – the Brisbane Gothic and Alternative Picnic.

This picnic isn't just any gathering; it's a celebration of our community's spirit, a safe haven where individuals can express themselves freely among like-minded souls. Over the years, our humble event has blossomed into a beloved tradition, attracting hundreds of attendees from all corners of Queensland.

However, our cherished tradition is facing a daunting challenge this year. The council has informed us that we now need to pay for the use of parklands and obtain public liability insurance to continue our gatherings. As a volunteer organizer, I've been funding these picnics out of pocket, but the costs have become too steep for me to manage alone.

To ensure that our iconic picnic can continue for years to come, we're turning to our community for support. We're aiming to raise $8000 (including fees on here) to cover essential expenses:

1. Parkland Use Fee: $3000

2. Public Liability Insurance (up to $20 million coverage): $800

3. Additional Costs for Cleanup and Staff: Up to $3000

*costs might be less if using a different park. We will keep updating everyone as we go.

Your generosity will not only help us preserve this cultural gem but also ensure that our community has a space to gather, connect, and celebrate our unique identities.
