"Save The Boerne Radio Tower"

Donation protected
My name is Baron Wiley - I've been in Media for over 30 years, working my way up the corporate ladder, and I jumped out of the boat to create content for a non-profit in Boerne, Texas. Then COVID hit and I found myself unemployed in Boerne, Texas. The owner of Boerne Radio and I had previously worked together in San Antonio, and he asked me if I would run his radio station - KBRN. After a year of being the GM, I told the owner I'd like to buy the station from him when he was ready. We picked February 25th of this year to sign the papers, and the owner would stay on with the station as my engineer and IT. He was thrilled with the direction of Boerne Radio - as Boerne never had its own radio station that super-served the community. We air the High School Football, Basketball, Baseball, and even Softball and girls Basketball Games. We air local news, local sports, local weather with a 10-year-old as my "weather man," and a community calendar feature. We created something called Boost Boerne Business, where we host a monthly networking event for local small businesses that's free to attend - networking with a purpose as there's a practical takeaway and a way to give back in our efforts to #loveyourneighbor.

The owner tragically died one week before we signed the papers to buy the station.

The show must go on.

I had no worries about going into the deal because the owner would stay with me as my engineer. Come to find out, the station was under a temporary agreement with the FCC to combine the AM and FM antennas during COVID as a cost-cutting measure after most clients canceled.

My engineer passed, and now I learned we need to build an AM tower, we need to boost the FM Signal, and we need to build a studio. All this is not in the budget.

No one is dying, no one needs a transplant, no one's house burned down...and I'm not a non-profit.

I've worked my whole life for this moment, and folks love Boerne Radio 103.9FM. (listen at www.boerneradio.com, and you'll see why).

We are called Boerne Radio - The Gateway To Great Music as we air music spanning seven decades, all formats and styles. From Frank and Dean, Elvis and Aretha, Beatles and the Beach Boys, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Stevie Nicks, and Stevie Wonder...George Jones, George Strait, and George Harrison. We play the National Anthem at 7:00AM and 12noon, honor Veterans, showcase great non-profits and play great Gospel Music on Sundays with a little country preaching mixed in.

I hear we give families something to talk about at the dinner table because Grandpa likes Johnny Cash, and Jr. likes U2, and we play the song they do together. "I now have something in common with my Grandson, and I feel cool again." Great music unites us.

If you believe in radio, and community, or know the station and would not only hate to see it get shut down but would love to see it go to the next level, we ask for your help.
I'm not a rich man...but I believe in the "God who's not short on cash Mister."
My hope is built on nothing less...
