Help Us Keep Hope Alive at The Bread of Life Mission (BOLM),

There are people sleeping under our roof tonight who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets.

There are men and women here who have lost everything—their homes, their jobs, their families, and in many cases, their hope. For them, The Bread of Life Mission (BOLM) is more than a shelter. It is a place of refuge, a place of safety, and often their last chance to get back on their feet.

Our Mission was founded by our mother, Judy Jones, whose heart was devoted to serving the homeless, hungry, and displaced. She believed that every person deserved to be treated with dignity, compassion, and love. In May of last year, we lost our mother, but we did not lose her vision. My sister and I promised to continue the work she dedicated her life to, and every day we fight to keep that promise.

Today, we are facing challenges that threaten the future of the Bread of Life Mission.

When Hurricane Ian devastated our area, it destroyed much of our property, including our kitchen facilities. We never fully recovered from that loss. Even now, residents are forced to prepare meals outdoors, exposed to Florida's extreme heat, rain, and cold weather. Something as simple as cooking a meal has become a daily struggle.

Many of our buildings require extensive repairs and code-compliance upgrades. We urgently need licensed electricians, plumbers, contractors, and skilled tradespeople to help us make the mission safe for the people who call it home. Electrical improvements are needed throughout the property. Residents need safe places to sleep, functioning showers, and basic necessities that many of us take for granted.

We are seeking to raise $500,000 to help preserve and rebuild The Bread of Life Mission(BOLM). These funds will help us address critical code violations, improve electrical systems, purchase bunk beds and essential supplies, build proper shower facilities, create additional housing space, and construct a kitchen where residents can prepare meals with dignity and safety. The funding will also help us pay the contractors and staff needed to complete these vital projects.

As a Christian-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we receive no government funding. Every meal we serve, every bed we provide, and every life we touch is made possible through the generosity of people who care.

We are not asking for luxury. We are asking for safe shelter. We are asking for a kitchen where people can cook a hot meal. We are asking for a shower where someone can regain a sense of dignity. We are asking for beds, so people do not have to sleep in unsafe conditions. Most of all, we are asking for the opportunity to continue serving those who have nowhere else to turn.
