Help Dan & Ray at STILL PARTNERS
It started with a vision – two lifelong friends breathing life back into a local corner bar. Dan Roth and Ray Capone took ownership of Partners, an established village pub of nearly 100 years, in 2013. Laughing as they landed on the name Still Partners, knowing that the deep-rooted history ingrained within the community was something to be embraced as they started on this new journey.
Yet, it was very much - still Partners.
With time, Still Partners became an early dinner hot spot for young families. It became the hub of Sea Cliff's music culture. It served up the heartbeat of a community alongside its gastropub entrees and craft beers. It became an integral part of Sea Cliff.
With Still Partners, Dan & Ray radiated life in our quiet village.
And then CV-19 hit. Doors were locked. Jobs were eliminated. The silence of the music, deafening. Meeting the needs of the community, as bills piled up, became the goal. Swaying through uncertainty as each new advancement and roadblock danced on, Dan & Ray went above and beyond to help those in need -- even as they worried about how they would continue to support their own families financially through the crisis.
Through it all, it’s Still Dan and Ray. It's Still Partners. And it's time for us to help our friends.
I am not going to sugarcoat it. Things aren't good. But collectively, we can change that. I organized this fundraiser because Dan and Ray are struggling, yet no matter how difficult things ever get for them, they always stop everything to help us. They continually give back to this community and make it a better place for all of us. They are our friends, our neighbors, and an integral part of making Sea Cliff the wonderful place that it is.
To quote the duo’s longtime inspiration Bob Dylan, “When you’ve got nothing, you’ve got nothing to lose.” Help our friends and their families get through this crisis and mobilize our community the same way Dan and Ray have always mobilized for us.
Side note:
While these funds are being directed into Dan’s account - Dan is splitting every penny equally - as they do with Still Partners - with Ray Capone, his life long pal who he convinced to open this
crazy bar.
