Saint Brendan’s Village has been at the heart of Community in Mulranny, Co Mayo since it first opened its doors 25 years ago.

This Charity has been supporting the older population and people with disabilities enabling them to stay locally for the past 25 years. We do this by providing accommodation in St Brendan’s Sheltered Housing and The Brendan's High Support Unit. This means that no one from the Clew Bay and Erris area need have to leave the locality to be looked after, no matter what their disability or healthcare needs.

 

However, the obvious challenges, and updated requirements for residential homes since the covid-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to Saint Brendan’s Village and we are currently facing a real risk of closure.

 

The closure of Saint Brendan’s Village would not only be devastating to our residents, their families, and our staff members but also, without doubt the wider community for many generations to come.
