St Andrew’s Church is more than just a worship space. It’s a building which was built brick-by-brick by the local community. It has hosted birthday parties, concerts, nature days and community gardening sessions. It is the designated safe space for the local school. It has been the place for family baptisms, weddings, and funerals of so many people living in Penyrheol, Trecenydd, Henredenny and the surrounding area for decades. It has been at the heart of community life for more than 60 years, and now it needs us.
St Andrew’s was built in the 1960s on a shoestring budget of £10,000. The building is showing its age and the economy of its materials, and if we do not act, St Andrew’s Church will be unsafe for use within the next 5 years.
So we turn to you. We want to protect the future of St Andrew’s, but we can’t do it alone. We have committed £200,000 to the future of ministry at St Andrew’s, but it’s not enough. Will you help us?
More information about us: We are three churches in Caerphilly who provide regular public worship, and sacred space for personal payer and contemplation. We view our spaces as belonging to the community for their most significant moments in life. We host community cafes, festival events, parties, concerts, and more. We believe that everyone belongs and is a beloved child of God, and we put that message at the heart of everything that we do.
