Dark days ahead Sanford Legion Branch 171

The Sanford Legion Branch #171 located in Sanford Manitoba will be celebrating it’s 75th anniversary this summer. We are a small Legion with a 1700 square foot building. We do not have a bar, we do not have a pool table, nor do we have a dart board. However, the Sanford Legion has maintained a strong presence in the town of Sanford with a population of 600+ for the past 75 years. 
Our  only source of income is generated from a coffee group that meets five days per week, periodic rentals and fund raisers. 

In response COVID-19 the Sanford Legion closed its doors until further notice, thereby, cutting off all sources of revenue. 

The goal of raising $15,000 would allow the Legion to maintain the building and pay its operating costs which include water, electricity, heating, taxes, building insurance, etc., until September/October 2020. 

As President of the Sanford Legion , It is with heavy heart that I make this plea for help.

However, as I reflect black to all the great support the Sanford Legion has provided for our “Veterans” and our community for the last 75 years, I am more determined than ever that our Legion will survive these dire times and continue to meet our commitments and community support for many years going forward.
