It's me and my son.
He is 8.
So, we got a ferret earlier this year. She is just the joy of our home. Such a fun, loving pet. She's very spoiled, as she should be, lol. My son calls her his best friend. Her name is Pixie.
Recently, she ingested something. She started getting very weak and lethargic. It happened very quickly. I took her to an emergency vet as it was after midnight. My son was hysterical and begging me to help her.
So, we arrived. They admitted Pixie. I applied for a credit card and it was charged $850. They recommended surgery, so the price went up to $2,000. I was told the object she ingested needs to be removed or she will die. So, I agreed to do the surgery but really don't have the money to do so. I am employed, but I don't have that kind of money just laying around.
I'm also aware that GoFundMe is mainly for humans needing help, and I get that completely. To us, Pixie is our human in ferret form. I just thought, what would it hurt to try to come here and see if I can come up with the operation money.
I'm willing to offer proof Pixie is indeed in a hospital. If you can help me, I'd really appreciate it.
Bless you much.
