Save Papi's House $6000 by 8/31/17

Donation protected
We are seeking help from the community. Our childhood home that our single immigrant father worked his whole life for is on the verge of being taken by the City of Oakland. On 5/30/17 the city served us paperwork stating that if we do not pay $10,000 in 10 days then they will take the house as a form of payment. On June 9th we recieved an extension of 120 days but now after working out a deal with the lawyers we need to come up  with $3,000 by 5:00pm Friday June 16th. This first amount of $3,000 has been reached so now we have to pay the remaining $6,000 by August 31st. Our father Leonardo aka Papi is our hero and an outstanding member of the community. He came here as an immigrant seeking a better oppurtunity for his life. In his life he has helped build BART and numerous buildings in our community, canned food in a factory, and helped to keep our city clean working for Waste Management. His heroism didn't stop there but continued once her became a father later in his life. He had his first child at 45 and in 2000 he found out that he had another daughter who was in the foster care system because her mother was a drug addict. When he found out about his second daughter he worked as hard as possible to get custody. He secured a loan for a home and even went out of his way to take foster parenting classes. He took foster parenting classes so that he could get his daughter's half sister out of foster care so that they would not have to be separated. He raised us by himself and tried to give us all that he could including the best education possible by sending us to catholic school with the help of financial assistance. All his hard work is being threatened by the gentrification going on in Oakland. The city is trying to exploit the frailty of a hardworking single old man and take the home he made for his three daughters and their children. We are trying our hardest to make sure this doesn't happen but we simply don't have the means or the time. We are asking for help from our community.

Please donate and help us keep my dads dream alive. Thank you.
