Packsaddle Community Fields have been enjoyed by the people of Frome for over 40 years. The fields are full of wildlife and have been used by the local community for walking, birdwatching, picnicking, dog walking and wellbeing. But these beautiful fields with ancient trees and hedgerows are at risk of being destroyed forever.

Somerset County Council agreed to sell this beautiful green space for a financially motivated, large housing development. But the sale was subject to planning permission being granted. Against the odds, we managed to get the planning permission refused, using our first round of fundraising to pay for our legal fees.

HOWEVER, the developer, Live West, has now appealed the refusal decision. If we are to protect these beloved fields, we must mount a legal defence against the appeal. Our case is good, but we need more money to pay for our substantial legal fees.
