Oziopia Homestay is a home away from home for travellers from around the world, in particular families who have connections with Ethiopia through the adoption process.
Abebe and his family have a lot of experience with adoptive children and families who visit, stay and connect with their country & culture. This provides a vital support to families while they navigate sensitive cultural connections. Without this support, offered in a warm, caring & compasionate way, many families would struggle.
Closure of the Ethiopian adoption program has hugely affected operations and means Oziopia rely solely on returning families to visit & connect their children to their home land
COVID-19 has resulted in the cancellation of all guest bookings & subsequently threatens the livelihood of Oziopia. We are trying to raise enough funds to meet the rental repayments for the next 6 months. Ethiopia does not provide a safety net, unlike other countries. Without YOUR help Oziopia will close & the family will loose their livelihood.
Oziopia was started 17 years ago, in association with various Australian adopted families as a joint venture. For the last 12 years Abebe and his family have been running the homestay (your home-away from home) independently.
