Champions for Health & Wellness Summit Needs Your Help!

Hi, my name is Erika Bell, and I’m the founder and creator of the Champions for Health & Wellness Summit — a transformative event I started 7 years ago when there was little to no diversity in the wellness space for minority women, plus-size wellness enthusiasts like me, and those often overlooked in traditional health conversations.

This event was built out of necessity, love, and a mission to make wellness inclusive, accessible, and affirming. I created this table when I wasn’t invited to sit at anyone else’s — and for the past seven years, we’ve hosted powerful conversations, built beautiful sister & brotherhoods, and inspired hundreds of women & men to unapologetically prioritize their health, healing, and self-care.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

This year, for the first time ever, ticket sales have been drastically low. While we typically host around 300 attendees or more, as of today — with just 16 days left before the event — we’ve sold fewer than 50 tickets.

Due to the nature of event contracts and venue obligations, I cannot cancel without incurring an even higher financial penalty. Canceling would result in a $26,000 debt, while moving forward will still leave me with $17,000 in out-of-pocket costs to cover room blocks, venue minimums, and event services.

The current financial climate and travel hesitancy have hit small community-based events like mine hard. While I completely understand why people are being more selective about travel, it’s left me in an incredibly difficult position.

The Champions for Health & Wellness Summit has always been about community, representation, and creating safe spaces for women & men who are often left out of these conversations. I believe in the importance of this work and the lives it touches — and I’m humbly asking for your help to keep it going this year.
