Founded with love and generosity by Erasmus and Elvira Haston in 1894, our beloved library is not just bricks and mortar, it's a living testament to our community’s story and an irreplaceable piece of New England heritage.

Today, our cherished library desperately needs your help. Despite our town’s unwavering love and pride in this landmark, we face the heartbreaking reality of limited resources. The historic building that has warmly welcomed patrons for over 130 years now struggles under the weight of extensive weather damage. Our roof, once sturdy and protective, is now leaking severely, endangering the precious books, treasured archives, and vibrant community spaces that so many hold dear.

We are reaching out to you, who understand the irreplaceable value of preserving history and nurturing community. Your support will directly fund a critical study to pinpoint the sources of these damaging leaks and develop a clear, practical plan for restoration. Without immediate intervention, we risk losing not just a building, but a cherished part of our town’s heart and soul. Once we conduct the study, and pinpoint the source of the leak, we will be able to apply for grants to cover the cost of the repairs.
