Help Us Care for Our Playing Field Trees
Three years ago, thanks to your incredible generosity, we carried out essential maintenance and safety work on the trees in our village playing field. Your support kept the space safe, welcoming, and beautiful for everyone — and we’re so grateful.
It’s time to look after the trees again. Regular maintenance is vital to keep them healthy and to ensure the safety of everyone who uses the field — from children playing to families walking their dogs and local groups enjoying the open space.
A recent inspection has identified important works, including pruning, removal of deadwood, and general safety maintenance. These will protect the long-term wellbeing of the trees and reduce hazards from storm damage or decay.
The most significant part of this project is the preservation of our largest macrocarpa tree, a true village landmark. The cheaper option would be to fell it — but we don’t want to lose it. We want to keep this tree, and with your help we can raise the funds needed to save it through specialist arboricultural care rather than removal.
We’re also applying for grants to support this work, but community donations are essential to bridge the gap and get these works scheduled in time. Every contribution, large or small, will go directly towards keeping our trees — and our playing field — safe, beautiful, and thriving for years to come.
Thank you for your continued support and community spirit. Together, we can make sure this special space remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.
Please donate and share — every bit helps!
