My name is Sky and I am 4.

I go to an awesome community school called Broadbeach Waters Kindy.

My favorite thing to do at kindy is to play outside on our forte and on the swings

A few weeks ago a big scary storm called ‘Alfred’ came through and damaged our playground. My mummy and teachers say that the damage to the playground is not covered by our insurance so we need outside help to try fix it.

I don’t understand what that means but I would love to be able to play outside on our playground again soon.

Please can you help us fix our playground?

About

Broadbeach Waters Kindy is our local free community Kindy for kids in the area and has been vitally important to local families for 52 years.

As a not-for-profit Kindy that is a registered charity, it has limited funds and relies massively on the generosity of families and local businesses to help with operating costs. The state government funding does not cover expenses and all that we raise goes directly back into the Kindergarten for the children and families to enjoy.

Our Mission - ‘Save our Kindy Playground’

Our dream is to try and get the playground fixed asap to allow the kids back outside as soon as possible after Easter.

If you can help us in any way (or know of any business who can), with a tax deductible donation, it would change the lives of the 40 plus, 3 1/2 to 5 year olds at the centre.

To fix it is a big undertaking for our little Kindy. We are aiming to do it in phases with your amazing help.

Phase 1

$500 – new soft fall

$1000 – Compliance Testing – comprehensive playground inspection report

$5000 – new frame for swings

$4500 – fort maintenance to get it safe enough for kids to play on again

Phase 1 Total - $11,000

Phase 2

$1800 - sandpit cover & repairs

$2200 - shadecloth replacement & repairs

Phase 2 Total - $4,000

Total goal - $15,000
