Save Our Historic Legion Hall for Veterans
Donation protected
We are a veteran's organization established in Sunland-Tujunga on January
6th, 1921. Originally located at historic Bolton Hall, our membership outgrew the
location as our soldiers came home from WWI. In 1930, our post purchased land and
built a new Legion Hall at 10039 Pinewood Avenue. Our building is now 95 years old,
and is the base of operations for our various charitable endeavors. With any historic
building, Post 377 needs tremendous maintenance to be compliant with current building
standards while maintaining historical integrity.
In remembrance of our heritage and community traditions we are hoping our community
will support us as we have supported our community and our veterans for over 100
years. With your help we can continue serving our wonderful veterans and the
community of Sunland-Tujunga for another 100 years.
Post 377 is independently funded by veterans and veteran supporters. We do not
receive outside funding from any political or government institution. Here are a few
examples of Post 377’s responsibilities:
Maintaining over 22,000 square feet of space in which our post stands today
Maintaining the Veterans Memorial at Sunland Park that honors the fallen from
our community and hosting the annual Memorial Day ceremony
Displaying the American flag for all patriotic holidays along Foothill Boulevard
Actively assisting in maintaining Verdugo Hills Cemetery and the Wreaths Across
America Program
Our responsibilities also include various services which directly benefit veterans and
their families:
Transportation to medical and administrative appointments
Educational services
Provide hot, nourishing meals
Housing assistance
Provide a safe place for veterans and their families to come for companionship
and camaraderie
Kindly help us continue our mission to foster Americanism and our obligation to our
country by contributing to our goal for the future.
