Save Our Hills! Re-draft the Wildlife Ordinance!

We are in favor of a Wildlife Ordinance, but NOT THIS ONE.

The “Wildlife” Ordinance that the City of Los Angeles is racing to push through does not meaningfully protect wildlife - but it does have severe negative consequences for ordinary homeowners and residents.

Some of the most drastic regulations have little or nothing to do with wildlife or habitat preservation at all, but they would be very dangerous to children and pets, would increase the danger of wildfires, give criminals easier access to homes, and financially harm homeowners.

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? The answer is behind-the-scenes maneuvering by a small number of special interest groups and individuals, politicians who haven’t even read the ordinance but voice support for it anyway, and deceptive mailings and PR by the City Planning Department.

THE RESULT is that most homeowners and residents remain unaware of the true nature of this “Wildlife” Ordinance and its negative effect on their properties, finances, and safety. That’s where we come in and why we need your help.

HELP US tell people what the City and the special interests don’t want them to know. If we can build awareness, we have a hope of convincing the City to go back to the drawing board and do the work of creating a good Wildlife Ordinance supported by data and proper studies, that will protect wildlife, preserve habitat, rein in developers of mega mansions, and not unnecessarily hurt the people who call these hills home.
