I’m reaching out with a heavy heart — my best friend’s younger brother, Liam, is currently in critical condition after a life-threatening electric shock accident. His condition is extremely serious, and his family is doing everything they can to get him the proper care he urgently needs.
We’re trying to raise funds to help bring Liam home so he can receive the right treatment and support in a safe environment. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world — and even just sharing the link can make a huge difference.
Please take a moment to read and share Liam’s story:
He is now in BRB hospital in Dhaka, alive but in critical condition, suffering from:
• Severe electrical burns and deep tissue injury
• Exposure of internal organs through the stomach
• Potential damage to his heart, nerves, and muscles and possibility of left arm amputation where he has no fingers left.
Although he is conscious and able to speak — a true mercy from Allah — his condition remains extremely fragile and his condition continues to deteriorate. He needs urgent, specialist treatment back in the UK, where he holds settled status and is entitled to NHS care.
However, he did not have travel insurance, and the cost of medical evacuation — either via air ambulance or a flight with medical escort — is well beyond what we can afford.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that he has no one to care for him in Bangladesh.
• his father passed away when he was just 2 years old.
• his mother, may Allah have mercy on her, is unable to look after him due to her mental and emotional limitations.
• She does not have the capacity or understanding to support him through something of this scale.
He is completely alone.
His family, medical rights, and access to proper care are all in the UK. We are doing everything we can, but we desperately need your help to bring him home so he can be treated with dignity and surrounded by love.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship in the Hereafter.” (Sahih Muslim)
Please consider this a sadaqah jariyah — a form of ongoing charity that may be the means of saving a young man’s life.
Funds raised will be used for:
• Emergency medical transport to the UK
• Immediate surgical procedures and critical care
• Ongoing recovery and rehabilitation support
Even £1 is valuable. If you can’t donate, please make du’a for his healing and share this page with others.
May Allah reward you, ease your difficulties, and grant you barakah in your health, wealth, and family. Ameen.
