Save ODESSA Creative Space: We Need Your Help!

Donation protected
We've been totally blindsided by our landlord imposing a sudden increase in rent and requiring new lease terms to be signed.

Now...we have just two weeks to raise enough to keep the space or we will lose Downtown’s only remaining independent venue. As one of Boston’s last creative spaces that is independently owned, we need your help to keep this magical space alive.

If you or your friends have ever stepped foot into our doors, enjoyed a show, vended, performed, danced, sang, created art or vibed with us please consider donating to help us reach the new rent increase goal.

Timing couldn’t have been more difficult as we were right in the middle of renovations when we were notified. As we all know arts and culture is our saving grace from the pressures of society. We're hanging on by a thread right now as venues disappear left and right and thousands of Boston artists have been displaced from creative spaces. Our volunteers work tirelessly to keep events affordable, accessible, and inclusive to the community despite no external support. Seeing everyone's faces light up and enjoy the freedom of creative expression makes all our very late nights, repairs, and extensive negotiations with the city and our landlord worth it. We want to keep this space open and offer even more diverse events but we can't do it without your help!

With your support we can continue to provide a safe space for artists of all backgrounds to host immersive art shows, album releases, Berklee concerts, rehearsals, and more events like our collab with BAMSfest for Black Professionals in Tech seminars, Northeastern's Caribbean Association's Afrobeat shows, and secret pop-up comedy, LoFi Producer Showcases, Weekly Open Mics, and more.

About ODESSA Events:
At its inception ODESSA brought immersive art-style shows to Boston to showcase the vibrant independent art and music scene in the city. Built by Boston-native artists + musicians, ODESSA became the first space in the northeast to host Blockchain-related events to educate the community on ways to monetize their art and music. Artists and vendors have sold art pieces to the Boston Celtics and several Newbury street galleries inside ODESSA. We have hosted panels with Grammy-awarded producers, design directors from Nike/Puma/Converse, streaming-giant Napster, and modeling casting calls with NYC-based agencies. Blockchain-giant Polygon has hosted events and we have leveraged our cross-sectional networks to put on for the city and build a bridge between Boston’s vast intellectual and financial capital as well as its creative fabric. Your donations are desperately needed to support ODESSA and the Artist community in Boston to survive and thrive again.

Boston creatives have made connections at our events that led to getting hired and flown out to conferences in Vegas and NYC, hired to perform at festivals, hired to speak at awards shows, and connected folks with all types of industry experts in blockchain, entrepreneurship, and creative/music industries. Some opportunities have been the catalyst to artists building their network within the northeast and globally. In order to keep providing a space for artists to enhance their skills and networks, we desperately need your help to reach this rent increase goal.

In times like this, art and culture is a much needed reprieve from financial and career stressors for all of us. Our mission is always grounded in offering an inclusive environment that provides a safe space in our city for all regardless of background, ethnic or gender identification. Please help us keep our doors open and bring more paint nights, art shows, comedy and seminars, etc. to the community

With your help we won’t have to close our doors for good. Boston’s intense gentrification has pushed many landmark venues out already and we want to continue to serve the community as long as we can. Times are tough for everyone and we get it so anything helps! A quick share of this GoFundMe link if you’re unable to donate would work wonders too. Please share with your networks and let’s keep the vibes flowing at the ODESSA we’ve all grown to love.

What happens after I donate?
We will offer anyone who donates the option to join our mailing list and be among the first to hear about new developments and shows, as well as RSVP lists for private events like Boston Music Awards' AfterParty, job opportunities and early sign up for seminars.
