Save Nour and Family From Gaza's War
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ayaki and I am setting up this campaign on behalf of my friend Nour (23) who is a fourth-year Nursing student currently trapped in Gaza with her family.
When Nour first contacted me, she was very depressed and had given up hope on being able to evacuate because she was having many issues with her PayPal campaign. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to be advocating for yourself and trying to find donors when you are stuck in a war zone and just trying to survive every day. I am really hoping that GoFundMe will work better and that we can help her and her family get to safety.
Although the Rafah crossing is closed at this time, we remain hopeful that it will reopen. I have set up this campaign to raise the funds necessary for evacuation, as well as to support Nour and her family with their day to day living costs until they are able to flee the war. All of the money raised in this campaign will be transferred directly to Nour and her family.
Message from Nour:
I'm Nour. I found myself a stranger to ask for help. It isn't an easy thing, but in this war I lost my studies, my dreams, my memories, and 15 members of my family as a result of the bombing. I didn't expect to reach this stage, where there is no longer a home, no work, and no income. We live in a moment where we only have clothes.

There are six of us currently in Gaza:
- My father
- My mother
- Myself (23)
- My sister, Aseel (19)
- My sister, Shahad (16)
- My sister, Sarah (8)

My family lived a happy, ideal life in the most beautiful house in Gaza. My father was at work and my sisters were committed to studying. The war not only destroyed our home, but it also destroyed my father’s workplace, which we relied on to complete our studies, as my father was a skilled carpenter in his field, and our land, from which we used to make a living and eat, was destroyed.
As a nursing student in my final year (graduation year), I found myself in the middle of the road. My future was harmed by the destruction of my university, and my sisters Aseel and Shahad were unable to complete their educational career either.

Sarah, my little sister, who is 8 years old, is smart and beautiful. She lost her school. She can't bear the remains of children or the destruction. We try to ease her pain by drawing, as she loves it, to preserve her psyche, but I want to preserve her life as well and provide her with the education she deserves.

But everything has changed since October 7, when we were forced to leave our house after the occupation threatened us, It is a dangerous area. We stayed outside the house for two months and endured what no human being could endure (lack of water, medicine, extreme cold, and much more). So we decided to return despite the danger of the house, but we didn't stay there for two weeks. Where we miraculously survived after a belt of fire in the middle of the night on our neighbors and on us, we fled with our clothes to save our lives, and returned to suffering and cold again.
Two weeks later, the occupation destroyed the entire house. Now we live in our relatives’ apartment with 40 of them, and we suffer from water, food, and everything.
I hope to help us rebuild our future and to be able to travel to complete my last year of university and achieve my dream since childhood and the dream of my father and mother that I become a nurse. And so that my sisters can also complete their educational career.
Breakdown of Funds:
- $38,500 to evacuate to Egypt: The only route available to Nour and her family right now is the Rafah crossing, which now requires a fee of $7,000 per adult and $3,500 per child. There are 5 adults and 1 child in her family. Therefore, it will cost $38,500 for them to evacuate to Egypt.
- $8,000 for immediate support: This will help them to buy food and water while they are in Gaza, where prices for everything are currently extremely high due to the siege. These funds will also allow them to cover their basic necessities in the transition period, once they get to Egypt.
- $1,800 to cover GoFundMe’s Transaction fees. The transaction fee is currently 2.9% +$0.3 per donation.
