UPDATE 8/21/2026
ALRIGHT NERDS, you saved the gathering! Thanks to this gofundme we were able to secure a location for NFG7. Unfortunately, we didn't get enough to put money down for land, but that doesn't mean we stop.

  • We are going back to the Rowan County Fairgrounds in Salisbury, NC from May 28 - 30, 2027.

Due to having to go to a smaller location, we will have to cap every day on attendance. And there simply isn't enough room to host a campground for NFG7, but there are tons of nearby hotels, air bnbs, and campgrounds to plan with your friends and come to the gathering together.

All raised funds will go into making this the best year of the gathering yet and anything extra will go into the "land fund" — where we will continue to work hard on building up the funds to buy land and get a permanent home for the gatherings.
Thank you SO much to everyone who has helped out. It's because of you the gatherings of the nerds live on.

WHAT HAPPENED

Here's the real situation.
At NFG6, the venue promised us a certain number of premade tents. More than we ended up getting. On top of that, the parking situation fell far short of what we were told to expect. We sold tickets based on what we were promised. When the venue didn't deliver, it cost us. Big.
We lost the profits from NFG6. And since those profits were what we planned to use to fund Gathering 7, we lost the future too. All of it. Gone.

We've been running these gatherings on nothing but passion and late nights for six events now. Norseforged and his wife run this thing. Just the two of them, plus a small crew of volunteer nerds who pour their hearts into making every event possible. They've dedicated their entire lives to creating a space where everyone belongs. This loss was devastating.

So here we are. If we can't rally the community and raise the funds, there won't be a Gathering 7. That's the truth. No sugarcoating it.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

Venue costs. Paying our artists, performers, and encampments. Logistics. Staff. Everything it takes to put this thing on.
And anything extra goes straight into the land fund. Which brings me to the bigger picture.

---
WHY WE NEED LAND

We have outgrown three venues in five years. THREE.
We started in late 2022 with a bored blacksmith in his shop who wanted to play D&D. Norseforged put out the call on social media, and over 100 nerds in full garb showed up ready to roll. That was the first Gathering.

Since then, it's taken on a life of its own. We went from 100 people to well over 12,000 at our most recent event. Nerds fly in from all over the WORLD.

This is incredible. And it's also a real problem. No venue can hold us at full capacity anymore. Nobody planned for this many nerds.
We set this goal high because the math is simple: soon we HAVE to buy our own land. There is no other way to host ALL the nerds. We're talking about building a permanent home. A place that can grow with us.

---
WHAT THIS IS
The Norseforged Gathering has no corporate investors. No outside money. No one pulling strings. It was built by nerds, for nerds, from nothing.

We didn't set out to build a business. We set out to find a place to belong. A place where misfits, nerds, and social outcasts could show up and just be themselves. No judgment. No gatekeeping. No pretending to be someone you're not.

And that's what it became. Tens of thousands of people have found their people here. It's not a convention. It's not a faire. It's a family reunion where everyone actually wants to be there.

We are asking the community to help us keep it alive.
If you've ever been to a Gathering, you know what it means. If you haven't yet, ask anyone who has. Then help us make sure there's a Gathering 7, and 8, and 20 more after that.

The nerds need a home. Let's build one.
