Save Nevada's Only Lifeline for Blind Children
Tax deductible
My name is Bryce Wolfe, and I am the father of a three-year-old girl named Emma, who was born blind with Bilateral Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. After almost a year and a half of taking her to traditional therapy centers (with almost no progress), we enrolled Emma at Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation’s Children’s Learning Center—the only preschool in the state built specifically for children who are blind or severely visually impaired. Within a few short weeks, Emma is beginning to learn to stand on her own, began humming her favorite songs, and even spoke her very first word, “no.” The Center has given her (and dozens of children like her) a chance at independence that simply does not exist anywhere else in Nevada.
This amazing foundation provides help to blind and visually impaired children from age 0-22. They provide after-school programs, summer camps, music classes, social skills training, and real-life skills training to help these children thrive independently.
Due to recent unexpected budget cuts by the state, the center will be forced to close their preschool program in July for their regularly scheduled summer break, with no current plans of reopening in August, like they normally would. Nevada is one of only seven states without a school for the blind. If this program disappears, these children will be left without the lifeline that they truly need.
Every contribution buys time and keeps essential programs available to some of Nevada’s most vulnerable children. All donations are tax-deductible. Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 20-4388240).
I am asking friends, neighbors, and compassionate strangers alike to help us keep the only school of its kind in Nevada alive. Please don’t think that a small donation cannot make a big difference. Every dollar matters. We have a very short window to secure much-needed help for such a truly incredible program. Thank you for standing with us when it matters most.
