Help Save My Family in Gaza and Fund My Sister's Education

I pray my message finds you safe and healthy.

My name is Rana. I am a Palestinian mother, sister and daughter from Gaza. I have been living in England since 2018. I have been awarded a Global Talent residency as a Senior Leader in Digital Technology to work in the UK.

I work for women, humanitarian causes and social impact, and my humanitarian cause today is to rescue my family in Gaza.

With a heavy heart and torn soul, I am turning to you seeking your help to evacuate my family, who are enduring a horrendous atrocity in the genocide in Gaza.

I am trying to save my parents, my little sister, three brothers, their wives and two children.

It breaks my heart that my elderly parents have been struggling with critical health issues since last year, and we have been trying to get them urgent medical treatment, but until now, they have not been able to get that assistance.

Moreover, one of my brothers was born as a child with Down syndrome, and he's been enduring dreadful trauma during this genocide as it's so scary for him. My parents have been trying to reassure him, but everything around him says the opposite.

My youngest sister was due to start university in October 2023. We were so happy for her, and I succeeded in getting her admission to Al-Aqsa University. However, the university was destroyed during the war, leaving my sister with no clear idea about the possibility of returning to the classroom in Gaza soon.

And we lost my ten-year-old brother, who was sniped while he was standing peacefully between us in one of the attacks on our house.

The bulldozer was demolishing the house while we were inside at 02:00 AM, so we had to request to evacuate whilst holding white flags and asked them to allow us to leave, but they shot him deliberately and didn't allow the ambulance to enter to save his life. We lost him while bleeding in our hands.

I don't want this to happen to my parents or other siblings, and I fear losing another family member.

For months, my family has been enduring in constant fear, not knowing what each day will bring. And my heart goes to them whenever I see something near their neighbourhood in the news.

With the networking cut, life has become frustrating, and my concerns about losing my entire family have been an intense pain after losing many cousins, uncles, aunties, friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Despite living in the UK since 2018, losing my youngest brother has been my eternal pain, in particular whenever an attack like this happens. Today, we are facing a genocide, not just an attack like the previous ones, which has left me shattered.

My goal is to rescue my family into a safe place and help them start a new life to build a future of hope. However, numerous financial expenditures are out of my reach.

These include the fees to cross from Rafah to Eygpt, the food and rental, the transportation, medical and legal fees, and resettlement expenses while in Egypt and the niceties to survive for my two nephews (2 and 4) who are no longer able to get the basic nursing needs like milk, nappies, clothes, or any chance to go to nursery soon. The fundraiser's target includes the GoFundMe fees.

Your support will help me get them into a safe place in Egypt, help my brothers start again and find work to afford the family's needs, get medical treatment for my parents and brothers, and help provide a secure life for my nephews away from such atrocity.

It's also vital for me to help my sister pursue her education, so your generous donation will relieve my biggest worry about her future since the cost of education is so high.

If the collected donation falls short of allowing me to get them to a safe place in Egypt, I will use it to meet their daily survival needs while still in Gaza.

All prices in Gaza have gone high since the 7th of October due to the closure and lack of resources, and the medication and baby nursing needs have become unaffordable and rare to find.

Your contribution will directly impact my ability to secure necessities and ensure the safety and well-being of my family.
